Whenever I'm walking down the sidewalk or in the aisles at Trader Joe's or onto a train or up a stairway, I notice two things:
1) Everyone has babies or dogs in this city. Those who don't, have large messenger bags or carts full of plants and herbs.
2) I am always the person to move out of the way or adjust my body in order to avoid full on collision.
WHY is it necessary that you have to take up the entire sidewalk or aisle or stairway? Can't you pick a side and then stick to it? What's wrong with you? I ALWAYS HAVE TO MOVE OUT OF YOUR WAY!!!
It's not that I'm some selfless martyr. Maybe it's that I just don't honestly believe that people care whether or not they run other people over to get where they need to get. Maybe I don't trust enough. Maybe it's my massive fear of people.
This is why, from now on, I will never ever leave my house.

I met a possum.
